HOT OFF THE PRESS!! Vol. 2

The magic dragon's name X2.

Looks like bruised
Tastes like confused

-no, that's not the new poem. That's my experience today. I should have known better. Banana slurpees are not supposed to be that colour.

Anyway, I did not get as much sleep as originally anticipated. Divine inspiration at 0700 hours. And it is, indeed, a poem, not a song. First poem in about a year. Finished poem #197.

CHESS

In the beginning there was darkness and light
There was black over there, over here there was white
In the center a rope that neither would cross
And each side uncluttered by mischief or dross
But the pieces grew curious, and limboed their way
Across center, to night, across center to day
Now a rope, catching friction eventually does snap
And so it begins: this strategic mishap

Now contrasting pieces make haste across floor
And blanken the memory of positions before
Heavy desertions of marble and pearl
Weave in a pattern that starts to unfurl
diagonals and corners and symmetry form
That redefine boundaries and counter the norm
An organized check board becomes the new trend
Til rules mutate more, and the black and white blend

I stare at a game I'd once willingly play
But all of distinction has merged into grey
I see what was mine in unfortunate state
A slab and it's pieces of uniform slate
If I looked closely, and planned with such care
I'd only be guessing at what should go where

Now all that is hazed would be made alright
If I knew what was black, and what had been white.

-Chess Ness.

I would have went with 'VanChessA'.
    Well, probably not.

Anyway, I saw your number on my phone and Balzer tried calling you back without success. (I would have called, but I was too busy jamming)

    Jammin'...
