Still Canadian

So I think I was subconsciously staying away from all things Canadian to help myself forget that I have two lives, because it's hard not being somewhere you love and missing people you love. I let myself become busy and consumed with my life here, which I also love very much, as an excuse to not have to think about home. You know, other home, cuz this is home too. So of course that all changed when I got emails from my friends saying they missed me and me not realizing that they were missing my absence, because I was not letting myself miss theirs. So then of course I had to call my Michelle and catch up cuz she had lots to say in her email. And of course, she's connected to all my Canadians and then came the flood of remembrance.

Please be gentle with me. I know the Canadian jokes like to fly around here, and I know it's just cuz you guys love me and appreciate this slight difference in my background. The jokes are a reminder that I do in fact miss home in spite of my attempt to stay away. I don't mean for you to change the way we joke around with each other. Just please remember that I love my Country, and respect my homesickness.
