HomeComing

Snow on the ground.
In the air.
Frickin cold.
Tim Hortons at the airport.
A Canadian flag flies in the distance.

Family.
Friends.
Heather drops by.
Boston Pizza with Michelle and Shancelle.
Joined by Phil, Ty, and Caleb for cards.

AJ's coffee.
Bubble tea.
A big lug of a horse-sized dog sleeping on my feet.
Earl's for lunch.
Chicken Kung Pow.
Spadina Freehouse for Supper.
Icy roads and reduced speeds.
Signs marked in kilometers.

Teaching singing.
Sitting in on Michelle's dance classes.
Hugging many children.
All smiles.
Soundchecking a rehearsal.
Taking notes during the performance.

Performance.
Alfred.
New songs.
Friends finally getting to hear the melody to the words they've already seen.
Reunion with Joan.
Actually playing the new violin part I wrote for Lullaby.
Joan weeps and I sing.
"Don't cry baby..."

Accepting a shot.
Turning down a drink.
Singing "Get the Party Started"
and "On the Radio".
Dancing to Holla Back.

Missing my Kentucky friends.

Just in case you were curious.

We're missing you right back! I'm glad to see you had the bubble tea! Sorry my phone went out last night, it doesnt like being on highways. Like 10 minutes after I talked to you, I got pulled over and got a ticket! How much does that suck!

    1) extremely glad to see that you're having a... duely nostalgic... experience back home. all the little things never do quite get appreciated until you see their absence, like signs in km instead of mi and canadian flags flying in the air instead of 20/20 news banners... i'm happy for you. :D

    2) a violin part to go with that song? that's crazy, since that was totally what seems most fitting for the soothing/subduing feel that the song already bears in its melodic sound. maybe piano to go with it, if you could make it soft enough? i'll try to remember the melody and see if i can fool around in cakewalk later on this week, once i finally get back onto my computer (i'm here at my house and it's there at my home... "buzzkill".)

    3) january 5th can't come soon enough. :P even though i'm happy that you're getting all the country lovin' you deserve back home, we still miss you here! love from the WF and myself and (wait, i'm in the wf, that was a stupid statement) anyone else who i'm not mentioning here (this is my "elastic clause" disclaimer so that no one can get angry... so there :P).
