Integrated depth

For a general update, read numbers 1 through 3. For an extra degree of depth, read on to number 4.
1. Thank you Bob and Heather for coming to my site. That's the coolest ever! Yay! Feel free to check out my other blog too. You can find out how by reading the post "I'd call this Untitled, but that would just be lame."
2. I officially have plane tickets, and now I'm starting to believe that this trip is really happening. I am gone to Kentucky (and Nashville!!) from March 22-29th, which is not as long as I had hoped for, but those flight dates basically saved me $250. The cool thing is that I'll get to have part of Easter Break here, too, so hopefully I'll get to see lots of people.
3. Valentine's Day (on the 26th) was THEE best Valentine's Day since the invention of Valentine's Days. ["since the invention of the kiss, there had been three kisses that were rated the most passionate, the most pure. This one left them all behind."] It puts all other Valentine's Days in the non-existent category.
4. I'm trying to follow the "don't worry, be happy" philosophy, but I'm uber upset. Well I don't think that's the right word. It's more like just numb. You wouldn't be able to tell by my ability to still crack jokes (and dang, I'm funny). But anyway, I went to the ear, nose and throat specialist today.
The whole story: First I got a hearing test done. I must say I actually enjoyed it. Comes from all those years of ear training tests during RCM exams I think. I got to sit in a little booth with head-phones on and squeeze a trigger whenever I heard a beep, no matter how loud or quiet, high or low. I have above average hearing. Apparently. But they wouldn't tell me how much. I noticed that the test for the left ear and right ear were exactly the same.
So after that I saw Dr. Gore-Hickman, who knows my singing teacher very well (they're both basically the best in their fields). So everything he told me he related into music-mechanics, and gave me his findings in note form to give to Lisa.
He sprayed this horrible stuff in my nose ("Wow. That's a formidable scent... It stings the nostrils..."), which numbed my nose and throat so he could stick a tube up my nose and down to my chords.
Good news(es): My sinuses are fine (sigh-Ness), and nothing is inflamed. I don't appear to be asthmatic or allergic.
The bad news is not so cool, but could be worse. There is a very minimal amount of damage on my chords-very early stages. In the grand scheme it's not that much of a biggy; but as a singer it totally freaks me out. As if I didn't have enough to worry about in this year.
So now it's back to life in suspension until I talk to Lisa and find out what this means. Getting my ARCT is so important to me; I can't even tell you. I need lots of prayers and hugs. All I can do now is work really hard at rehabilitation, and not give in to despair. If there's one thing I know about me, it's that I was born to sing. God tell me everything's going to be okay.

Wednesday Level 3I

The Line from the Song:
"It's not delusion, it's not illusion or magic."

The Topic of Discussion:
The difference between delusion and illusion

The explanation:
Me: "The difference between delusion and illusion is that with an illusion, you know it's not real. With delusion, you think it is, but it's not."

The Breakthrough:
Josh: So, illusion is when you turn your peas into corn.

The witty reply:
Me: Exactly! And delusion is when you think your peas are corn.

I'd call this "Untitled", but that would just be lame.

Okay, people, here's the scoop. I have started a new blog. I have realized that basically the reason I have a blog is to keep Brennan updated on my life when he's gone on the road. It has been so tempting to just come on here and write everything directly to him, like a letter. So I created a second blog that will be addressed directly to Bren. I find the two different formats to be interesting, creative and resourceful. Bah! ResourcefulNess... makes me sound like a librarian. Or a secretary. Like Michelle.
Anyway, you are more than welcome to read and comment on my second blog. In fact, I encourage it. It'll make you feel like a spy. And everyone loves spies. All dressing in black and stuff... So the address is
www.crazynesswastaken-bren.blogspot.com The only thing different between this address and that one is the -bren. Or you can link to my other blog by clicking on "view my complete profile".
So now back to life in general.
I have a cold. My socks have Hello Kitty on them. When I'm sick I forget to eat.
And by the way, my favorite punctuation mark is ;
And I like to steal other people's sayings. Just in case you were curious.

Verdict: Amazing.

Yesterday = officially the best day ever in the existance of days. Better than ten good things.
First of all, in spite of his efforts two nights ago, Brennan was completely unable to stay away from me. (Hee hee) So we hung out even though he said we weren't going to. I played the two Michelle Branch songs that I learned, and Brennan played me... Sleeping alone on summer nights? ha... is that close?
Anyway, yay for slumber parties. So we sent Brennan off (and by we I mean me) in the morning for his meeting with the Obese Felines. So I went back to bed, to be awoken by a phone-call from Michelle (this is the one I can Bobber, for future referrence) at noon asking me what's up and do I want to do something later, and get out of bed you lazy bum. So when we hung up, I did NOT get out of bed, until ten minutes later when the three B's: Bobber, Bren and Balzer burst through my door to kidnap me for lunch. Best surprise EVER!!! I don't have words to describe how cool it was. I love surprises. Especially surprises involving my best friend or boyfriend. Or surprises involving my best friend AND boyfriend. ("I'm your girlfriend!")
So I got to hog Bren all day and in the evening a group of us went to the Longbranch. That's hot.

Musical Interlude: (to the tune of Frosty the Snowman)
Brennan the cowboy
Was the best you ever saw
With his tight blue jeans
And a buttoned shirt
And a hat made out of straw

Brennan the cowboy
Makes a good cowboy, I say
He could catch the flow;
So no one would know
That he learned to dance that day

There must have been some magic in that Brennan two-step dance
Cuz when he two-stepped round the floor
All the girls were in a trance

Oh, Brennan the cowboy
Had to hurry on his way
But he waved good-bye;
Made the girlies cry
But he left with ME that day.

Oh I sense a top ten charter with that one. I'll get right on recording that...

So then we crashed at Bob's and did a lot more talking than crashing, really. It would be hard to explain to anyone who wasn't there in those moments, why, exactly, it was so amazing.
But I know.

I shopped. I dropped.

"I love my hair because no matter what I do with it, it's still messy."

Okay. Yesterday: shopping with Sarah. Holy crap can she ever outshop me by like, two days probably, I'm sure. 4 hours and I'm good! Really. Actually after 3 I'm ready to go home.
So you will be happy to know that I was a good girl who stuck completely to the list. Sounds like: Dun dun duhhhhhh "the list".
Item numero uno: Something for... someone. Undisclosed.
Item numero... ducioso: Caramel Macchiatto. So far, so good.
Item numero toi: Well, the ladies will understand if I mention that I got 2 for $50 at La Senza. Colours undisclosed.
Item numero four: a fine selection from the Body Shop, to be used with next shower.
I. #6: Wow. I can't believe I actually put that. I meant #5: 5 pairs of earrings. Oo la la. (4 pairs boyish hoops, 1 pair bar-star).
Okay, and now ACTUALLY number 6 and most exciting: Michelle Branch's the Spirit Room and Sarah Slean's Day One. EEeeeeeeee! Oober excited.
So I went home very sufficiently satisfied. Opted out of supper for a quick nap that turned into a 2 hour sleep, which I woke up from just in time to go to tap.
Tap was followed by a Mario Party at Bobber's (Me, Bob, Josh, Ciera, Luke-kinda, not really, Deryk, and Lara, who I just met that night). While I was in the washroom, Josh took over Yoshi, challenged someone to a mini-duel and lost all my (98) coins. Not cool. Fie on thee!! Mario-Party-the-drinking-game occurrs when the people playing, and their alternates, have to drink whenever that person loses. I wasn't drinking, but I was subjected to a tequilla shot. Lime Crystal Lite instead of salt. Very interresting.
Today consists of a violin lesson, coffee with Deryk, and a heck of a lot of cleaning. And some attention payed to Alfred and Dockins somewhere in there. (my guitars).
[later that evening...] And I just sang for an hour and 45 minutes. Man did that feel good! I love it when my voice is working! (Yay for not being at the studio this week!) I know almost all my rep! (well not memorized but I'm getting there.) I just need to spend a little more time with Faure and Duke, then I'm good to go! Competitions are... when? April, May?

Oh, the shout-outs, the shout-outs.

Okay, first of all, that tool bar with all those nice choices... so not here. What's up with that? It was here last entry. I think my computer's screwed.

Dee: Whaaaaaaaa..... You're coming here? Why? When? How? Who?

Bren: 1. How do I make links to other blogs from my site? It's pretty inconvenient to stalk everyone so far... 2. I played These are my general thoughts and notes on our first day apart, for a bunch'a highschool kids tonight. Loads of fun. I told them they were mistaken as to the date of Valentine's Day.

Stumpy: Welcome my friend. I knew you'd come. Waaaaaa-haaaaaa.

Bobber: Holy Moley. Best laugh-fest ever tonight. Man did I need that. Sorry for whacking you in the face. I'll be more gentle next time...

Lork: Tomfoolery 101 here we come! (stupid bowling! Nah, I'm sure it'll be fun). ONE MORE OPEN HOUSE!!! (ever, for me!!) -Yes there's a reason why I called you Lork. Ask and I shall tell--remind me.

Rachel: Do you have a shortened version of your name or a nickname? It just seems so formal... How about 'Chel?

Abo: Dude. Write a new blog. I'm running out of comments.

Anyone else: Lost on your way to Crazynesswasn'ttaken? (Thanks for reading up!) If you're angry because you don't have your own shout-out... well maybe I just wanted to see if you'd come. (8)Let me know that you hear me, let me know your touch...(8) and I'll write you your own shout-out. Promise!!

Recording session food consists of...

Wow. Has there always been a tool bar above my typing box with things available to me such as italics , bold and spell check? ObservantNess?
Anyway...
Recording session food is obtained by quickly stopping at a convenience store on your way to record, and picking out the thing that most resembles food: things like nachos, chicken-cabobs... In this case, taquittos. Next you select at least one chocolate bar. In this case two. You then pick out a delicious creamer as a gift offering to Rick, who provides the under-fed sleep-deprived grumpy-I-hate-open-house-week child with unlimited coffee, as well as studio time. Open house isn't really that bad (although I could have put the steel-toed boot to a few choice students tonight... another story, another day), I just like to gripe. And there's nothing else to gripe about.
Realizing that happyNess is a conscious decision, the following is an ode to winter.
Here's to hot caramel macchiados on a cold day. Here's to a fire place in the corner of your favorite coffee shop. Here's to matching fuzzy gloves and scarf. Here's to waking up cold and having a sleepy gentle boy to warm you up. Here's to enough warm memories to last the two weeks that the sleepy gentle boy is gone. Here's to burying a cold nose into the shoulder of a brown- not green- sweater. Here's to the indoor window scraper that I will someday invent. Here's to the padiddles that are easier to detect because nobody in their right mind would drive a motorcycle in this weather. Here's to travel mugs and early morning send-offs and cold plastic coats, and pre-heated vehicles...
Here's to Winter with Brennan.

100 sit-ups down, 900 to go.

Aww. I had a nice long talk with my sister/best friend last night. I got to give her more reasons why Brennan's the most amazing guy I've ever met, and I played her my new song. She said it sounds Ainsleyish. I agree. *heart Ainsley. (I just about fell out of my chair just now, because I tried to lean on the arm-rest... there is no arm-rest).
She caught me up on her life, and we talked a little bit about making the plans for me to go down to Kentucky for a visit- yay! I'm sad that I won't get to meet her closest friend there, as she has to go home to... where, Chile? Somewhere like that?
I had an awesome voice lesson today! Yay! My voice was working, which is always nice; Lisa always gives me more challenges to work on, and yay for that, because there's always more to learn, and I want it all, baby!
*Sigh*
I have an awesome job with amazing students and co-workers, my family is the coolest, I love my sister, my dog is a sweety, my friends are the greatest, and Brennan rocks. God is good.
